We do love to be beside the Seaside….

Oh, yes we do. It’s that time of year again – Thirroul Seaside & Arts festival is taking the Northern Illawarra by storm. This annual event, held over this coming weekend  April 2 & 3, is conducted by the Lions Club and is a major fundraiser.

There is more art than you know what to do with. The major exhibition this year will be at Thirroul Community Centre & Library, with the Opening night on Fri April 1 @ 6.30pm. Heaps to see and do, all weekend and all for a great cause.

Checking out some Newtown art…

Graham Kuo, Passion 2008

Finally got to the Wilson Street Gallery in Newtown last week, after receiving their e-newletter for a year or so.

How refreshing! A great gallery space, and the main room at least is wheelchair accessible.  Just doesn’t happen that often, sadly.

Currently, Graham Kuo has  a solo show hanging. What a treat….check it out. Beautiful, bold, lyrical pieces with calligraphic overlay.

An exhibition worth seeing in Bowral at present is the Wingecarribie Works on Paper Prize.  Some good solid work, including Alannah Dreise’s prizewinning piece ‘Fashion Police 3’ and a great piece by Kerry McInnis.

It’s at the

BDAS Gallery

1 Short St Bowral.

Show runs March 3 – 20 and is open every day 10am – 4pm.
